It’s Quiet Here!

As I struggle to find meaning in life especially when I fall on hard times I remind myself WHO the true meaning of life is about. When I pull outside of myself, I get clarity.
If you are struggling today KNOW that you are not alone! There is no perfect family, person or couple. Jesus tells us clearly in the Bible that we will all go through trials and tribulations BUT HOW WILL YOU HANDLE THEM? It doesn’t mean you can’t hurt, get angry, accidentally say the wrong things BUT you still WALK IN FAITH. You praise the LORD when it’s sunny and when it’s raining. The rain teaches you to cover up, wear different clothing (maybe protective), knowing that it will eventually stop.
Put on your full Armour of God before it starts to rain, Praise HIM during the rain KNOWING that there will be sunny skies AGAIN!
Jesus gives us so much that we don’t appreciate on a daily basis. That is why one on one time with HIM is VITAL to my clarity. ALSO, you are the company you keep. Surrounding yourself with people who are strong in their faith will help keep you focused when the rain starts to fall.
My children, husband, faithful friends and my Bible Study Students give me clarity and a reason to persevere. Just knowing that when you spread the love of Jesus you will find that insurmountable JOY that you find only in HIM. He will give you the strength you could never have on your own and great WISDOM if you choose to hear HIM!

It just takes One!

In my frenzy to keep our Bible Study Fun Class in order as our class reached a whopping 90 students Wednesday, I was hurriedly making my rounds to each table making sure we were all okay and the little ones had help. Suddenly, I felt a big hug around me from one of my youngest students. When I looked down I saw a huge smile on her face as she was making her puppet Lion. All of a sudden the world seemed to come to a screeching halt. I had felt the amazing spirit of a little angel here on earth. She had given me something that day that nothing worldly could ever give me. I knew at that moment what truly mattered and that there could be no greater joy than spreading the Gospel to as many children and adults as I could in my lifetime. True unconditional love such as a hug from a little girl I barely knew showed me just a tiny glimpse of the AMAZING and POWERFUL love our Lord Jesus Christ has for each of us!
Thank you my little angel for reminding me to slow down and giving me your unconditional love that day:)

The Hard Call

Have you ever had a time in your life when you had everything perfectly planned out and then all of a sudden that plan comes to a screeching halt? Well God likes to play that game with me a lot..lol!
I find humor in my relationship with the Lord as well as a deep respect, communion, love, adoration, protection, peace and joy!
One thing he is with me is very humorous! He lets me plan things out for years and then my life will take a huge u turn and he will show me that my plans are not his plans. Oh, how I am humbled but blessed!
When you get that call, and you know it is from him, you cannot bargain your way out of it, try to forget about it or just push it off. When you do this you are not rising to your full potential and you are not walking in obedience. At first you might think there is no way I can do this? There is no way this is better or simply why? I promise you that God has the best way planned for you because he made you and made you for a purpose. As you become closer in your walk with the Lord you will find the calling isn’t always easy but there is joy and peace in that obedience to Him that the world can never give you!

Moms can rise!

My how things change in a year.  Many prayers were answered. I lost a very dear pastor friend and gained a niece whom I love so much.  Alexis whom I wrote about in my last blog is thriving.  She has exceeded all of her doctors expectations and is physically and verbally meeting developmental milestones..yay!  I will not try to catch you up on a years worth of change but I will point out some major changes in my life and in Momsadvertiseu.

When I first started the company, our mission was to support and promote women and moms in business by having a website that no matter how much advertising they could afford or not, they would be able to have a presence on our site and be able to support other women and mom owned businesses.

From the beginning, the company I hired to do the website misrepresented things and delayed launch dates and changed their mind about what they could and couldn’t do so in the end I settled for a more than sub par website in a rush to launch  my vision.  I apologize for that.  After struggling with EBIZUNIVERSE for almost two years I will no longer associate with and /or promote them so thus the website is no longer active.  I couldn’t actively market a website that worked sometimes and would give clientele such grief trying to put all their info into the site within minutes or it wouldn’t save anything.  I couldn’t justify paying them any more money to fix issues that should have never been there in the beginning .  You see I already had paid them over $6K.

The blessing in all of this is having the faith that the vision served a purpose and allowed many women to network and support one another while I met some of the most amazing Christian business women!!!!

As I allowed God to show me what his purpose and calling was in my life he began a great work in me:) He shut every opportunity that I tried to grab a hold of in a desperate attempt to find meaning this past year.  God told me to wait…so I did..and I trusted the doors he closed were for a reason.

In September of this past year 2011 we were able to launch our first Bible Study Fun class at our public school.  To date we have 85 students meeting on Wednesdays after school coming to hear more about the Gospel while hanging out and just having a great time.  A huge thank you to my volunteers and 121 Community Church.  They are my earthly support:)

God has also called me to lead Students Standing Strong into South Keller Intermediate next year.  If you know me none of these things were in my plans..I’m telling you none!  I had it all planned out how my son was going to a private school or homeschool next year but no way was he going to SKI!  Well, God as he usually does knocks me down a notch or two and reminds me I am his and to be obedient.  I won’t go into the details but to let you know 3 very important and influential people in my life spoke this over me and then I knew it was God calling.

So where to now?  Well as you see I am taking back my Momsadvertiseu.com and redirecting it to a personal blog.  I will continue to tweet and blog about great business women, great groupons, great deals, great places to visit all the while sharing with you how my life has dramatically and amazingly changed all by giving  all of me to our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Ladies, when you really let him lead you there will be a glow about you, a joy and peace in your heart even when others don’t understand?  They will want it and some will dismiss it as being fake.  But for the ones who really know me they will tell you I am a different person, a better person and I truly love people and children.  I want to serve and change the way we see ourselves and others. I want others to seek and know Jesus as I now do.   Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior is the first step!

Have a blessed evening!  I will be back soon…..

Loving and Serving in HIM!

Micro Preemies

I have to blog about this because it lies so near and dear to my heart.  My niece Alexis was born on July 7, 2010 at only 1lb 7 oz., 23wks 6 days with a 10% chance of survival.   Flash forward to November 27, 2010 and she is over 8lbs and we are looking forward to her coming home here soon!  My sister and brother-in-law have braved this battle with such passion, love, strength and love for the Lord Jesus Christ.  Knowing through Him, with Him, in Him all things are possible.  There are things that you learn only by experiencing in life and sometimes by the grace of God you will hear about an experience before it becomes your reality.   We had never had a history of labor problems in our family so we did not expect my sister’s second child would have any problems much less that she would go into labor so quickly and with no way to stop it.  I’ll never forget the day I got the call …in any case I don’t want to delve into that but into hopefully helping another family that might encounter this situation someday…

A) I would suggest that you dismiss any negativity towards your micro preemie and the situation at hand.  Do not let it penetrate your mind and soul.  This is your baby and you are the only voice that baby has.  Use it.  Speak up.  Don’t worry about upsetting the staff.  They are being paid well to do their job and most do it very well but you need to make sure everyone is on the same page and everything is charted (written in the baby’s chart)!

B) Even if your baby has a small survival rate doctors are not God.  God is all-knowing and all-powerful.  Through Him and in Him all things are possible.  Get a powerful prayer group together to pray for you, your baby and your family!  Alexis is now 8lbs and has had her ups and downs but by God’s grace and her parents’ insistence on the best care possible for her she alive and turning new corners weekly and sometimes daily!

C) Demand that your baby has a primary care nurse.  I stumbled upon an article recently which talked about how  this lady’s micro preemie baby would have rough days on the days her primary care nurse was not there.  I’m thinking well duh why wouldn’t people who have been there and done this for years know this and this would be standard operating procedure for all NICU units?  Not so for all babies and/or at all hospitals.  That’s why there is such a strong bond between baby and mommy in that first year or longer because the mommy is the safe place and primary care giver (usually).  Even though these micro preemie babies are in a hospital they  need that routine and dependency on a primary nurse (someone who they know and who of course knows their routine) and of course their mommy and daddy as much as they can be there.

Also, read, read, read, research the internet and make sure you support Graham’s Foundation which is an excellent resource for families going through this most difficult time.  Prematurity.org is written by a parent of a micro preemie baby who was a nurse for 11 years and a NICU nurse also before the unforeseen happened to her.  Yes she had a premature baby and yes it is different when it is your child in the NICU and you are living it day in day out.  I applaud her for speaking out and trying to help nurses and families work together to do the best they can in such a very emotional and turbulent time for these families.

God Bless!
